Mothe'rs Day Teas

Hello all!!
I hope you are warm and cozy your homes. All I can say is be thankful that you are not a cow, horse or any other kind of animal that has to stay outside in this weather. My poor animals! No school tomorrow due to the fact that no one in their right mind should be out on the highways in this weather.....not to mentioin the 6 foot drifts that have accumalated and left us trapped in our own yards. Happy snow day!

Holiday Homework is OPTIONAL

I have sent home the Holiday Homework Package. There is a lot to do in this package so please don't feel like you have to do all of it. Encourage good printing and pencil grip with as many letters that your child feels motivated to do. If you decide to complete it, bring it back to the school for an award. If your child does not want to do it and it is a fight please don't push. It is too early to enforce it. Any questions please call or email. It is due any time in January. Thanks Parents.

Hello all! Sorry for the delay in posts. Here are some quick reminders for the rest of the week. Hot Lunch for the T/TH group on Thursday. Kim L. is providing pizza for the class on Wednesday in Nutrtion Break #2. THANK YOU KIM! M/W group has class this Friday. Secret Friend Alerts are coming home this week. I will be sending the prayer page home on Wednesday and Thursday. Please have these back by the 16th. We are learning the letter t, the story of The Nativity and numbers 8 and 9. Good things are happening in Kindergarten.

I am happy to be back but not so happy about the road conditions. With that in mind remember to dress warm no matter what. Even if we are staying in for recess, it is great practice getting our warm, outside clothes on. We are learning about the letter d this week; digging dinosaurs, and counting dimes. It is hot lunch on the 24th. It happens during the second nutrition break. Have a great week!

Happy All Saints Day! We are going to the fire station on Wednesday and Thursday. Thank you Ashley G. for driving the buses. We are wrapping up our Seasons unit and moving onto O'Canada. Hot lunch on Thursday, and progress reports are coming home on Wednesday and Friday. T/TH class has school this Friday. That's all for now.

We are learning the letter o, so o show and tells. Halloween party is on Friday for both classes. Parent helpers will need to be there at 9:00am. This is when we will start our centers. Thank you Parents! I have sent home snack requests so no need for lunches this day.

Thankful Friday

It is a combined day on Friday. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with thankful centers all morning. We will be taking a break to celebrate Thanksgiving with the rest of the school at 10:30 in the school gym. Remember a food donation for the food bank and to wear your "school picture day" clothes. We will be taking a class picture for our calendar. Happy Thanksgiving!

Popcorn Parties!! Yeah!

Both classes earned a Popcorn Party. M/W will be celebrating on Monday, and T/Th on Tuesday. The M/W group will be wearing PJS and the T/TH group is wearing their finest dress clothes because it is picture day. We will be eating popcorn and watching a movie around 2:30 in the afternoon. Way to go kids!

Student Lead Conference Date has Changed

I am excited and apologetic at the same time. I am adding on one day to our Kindergarten Schedule that we did not account for. I would like to do our Student Led Conferences on Monday June 21, 2010 for the M/W group, and on Tuesday June 22, 2010 for the T/TH group.

So the last day of school for the ECS is June 21 (M/W) and June 22 (T/TH).

Birthday party, fieldtrip and swimming day are still combined days, just Monday and Tuesday of next week are regular school days. I have made this change because there is too much to do. I want our Student Led Conferences to be successful, and I feel next Monday and Tuesday is too soon.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am so sorry for the change.

Today was the best Sports Day yet in Mrs. Nevil's Kindergarten experience. The weather was great. Thank you God. The kids were happy and active, and the parents were super helpful. I just want to give a heartfelt thanks to Tasha, Mike, Ashlee, Nick, Michelle, Connie, Melissa, Marty, Michelle, Tara, Danielle, and Jolene. The time you give means so much. Thank you.

Rides Needed for Swimming

Just a reminder that we are swimming on Friday. It is a combined day so both classes will be there. There is a lesson to begin with then a free swim. Myself, Mrs. Machacek and the life guards will be in the pool. I welcome as much parent involvement as possible. If you would like to swim please come. If you would like to watch that would be great. More parents there means more help in the dressing rooms. It would be nice to have a Dad there, just for some help with the boys in their locker room. The weather forecast is not pleasant so please be advised that I may be asking you to take your child to and from the pool so that we do not have to walk. If the weather turns out to be ok we will walk and leave the school first thing in the morning after attendance. Swimming in Ecs

We are going swimming this Friday, May 28. We will swim from 9-10. It will start with a 1/2 hour lesson. Please drop your child off a school in the morning for attendance then we will walk down to the pool as a class. You are welcome to walk with us. When we get back Penny Carnival will be happening so we may join in the festivities if there is enough parent help. Anyone who wants to join us and help out please Mrs. Nevil know asap. Thank you.

Mother's Day Tea

Hospital Fieldtrip

Way to go Kindergarten! You have been so good that you all have earned a Popcorn and Pajama Day in Kindergarten. The M/W group will celebrate their good behaviour on Friday, January 22. The T/TH group will have thier party on Friday, January 29. I have told the kids to wear their pajamas on this day, and that they are welcome to bring a stuffy. It will be fun!
